Connection Opportunity post #18

Whether we provide for ourselves or our families, we must be sensitive to their needs to support and protect them. How does our society allow us to connect with those who support us? Where does our culture encourage us to find ways to communicate with those who provide for us?

Here are some questions that can help us identify areas in our family, community, and greater area where we can connect with others in our pursuit of supporting those we love.

Take a moment to reflect on your conversations. How do they truly serve you, and where can you envision making positive changes? Are there any personal challenges that stem from your perception of how others provide for you? If so, what are they and why? How do these insights influence your connections with others?

  • Family/Kids: Who in your life can truly empathize with your need to provide for others? Do you openly share your challenges and triumphs with them, fostering a deeper connection?

  • Personal /Self - What is your inner dialogue about your ability to provide for others? What do you tell yourself?

  • Clients/students - What are some of the pressures faced by those you mentor/coach, and how can you step in to provide the necessary support?

  • Work/professional—How do pressures to provide impact you and your colleagues? How do the dynamics in your office culture change when the pressure to provide changes?

  • Nature - How does the world provide for us? Are our needs changing?

  • Community/online networks—What do online networks and platforms do to provide opportunities to connect? What do you have to provide to create connections with others?
